As a teenager in Tanzania DJ David found himself drawn to music, so he organized house parties and hosted private ones developing his talent. Talent that allowed him major gigs at Club Area 51 and Club Lu’s in Iowa. His unparalleled skills in spinning Afro-Caribbean music made Club Jungle International one of the premier spots in the North Iowa area. DJ David specializes in hip hop, reggae, R&B, soca, soul, calypso Bongo flava, genge, and lingala. DJ Nasser was driven to be a part of the famous African Nite in the Des Moines area back in early 2000 and has since made frequent appearances at the Crossroads Night Club as well as community parties all over the U.S. "Music is my passion", says Nasser. "I play my music in an exclusive way...this keeps me from being pigeonholed in one particular style." An Economics and Finance student, DJ Cape has continued to pursue his music interest: an interest that he nurtured over the years. For three years, while working with KUWS 91.3 FM, he hosted The Network Hip-Hop Show when it was the highest rated show in the Duluth-Superior area. He has also played at the CC Tap Carrigans and Stargate in Superior,Wisconsin. DJ Cape is one of several deejays who make up Solbrothers Entertainment and plays regularly at Sound Bar in Minneapolis. Solbrothers Entertainment has affiliates in Atlanta (Madaraka Sounds), Dallas (Tetemesha) and Kenya (Soljams Kenya) and collaborates regularly with other Twin Cities deejays such as DJ Xpect of Mezesha Entertainment, the Long Coin and FunkHouse crews. He plays on internet radio at Solbrothers Radio. |

Peres, a native of Kenya, is an actor, screen and playwright, published poet, director and dancer whose creative journey spans 3 continents. She has starred in over 2 dozen plays and played 3 of theater’s most coveted roles, “Hamlet”, “Lysistrata” and “Lady MacBeth”. Here latest film credits include “Think Twice”, “Defiled" and “Color Struck” She is a multiple award winner and an LA Ovation Award nominee for “How Kintu Became a Man”. Peres has also penned scripts for several notable Hollywood producers. She is currently working on her new book “Baby” and a dance piece “Our Kind Barefoot” for the stage.

Uchechukwu Iroegbu has been photographing people in Minnesota for the past eight years. He says he is passionate about photographing people because this allows him to "capture the different characters within each individual". He enjoys taking portraits because he says "portraiture is a reflection of the bond between families, couples, siblings and friends."
DJ Dennis describes himself as a deejay who plays every music genre: "I play everything and I mean everything: R&B, hip-hop, soul, dancehall, reggae, bongo flava, bongo dance, genge, Ugandan flava, zouk, kizomba, soukouss, and coupé-décalé. DJ Dennis started deejaying in Dar es Salaam, and continued when he moved to Winona and now the Twin Cities. He is strongly influenced by his dad, DJ Bonnies Love, DJ Charles, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and FunkMaster Flex. A mobile entertainer, DJ moves around the state and plays at different parties and clubs in New York, Chicago, Wichita, Houston, Des Moines, Nashiville, and Dallas.
The Midwest's nightlife has been low on the radar in Afro-Caribbean, hip-hop and R&B music, but the last several years has seen a diversifying of a multinational audience and deejays . DJ David prides himself on contributing to this change since his arrival on the scene in 2000. His professionalism, dedication and strong work ethic has earned him a reputation as one of the best deejays in the region.
Raised in Tanzania during the 90's, DJ Nasser was exposed to all sorts of music ranging from hip-hop, reggae, house to lingala, genge and bongo flava. Heavy influences on him came from Dj's Jazzy Jeff, Flex, Craig G and Premier. This background coupled with the desire to create an individuality has allowed this turntable guru to spin a unique blend of music in some of the hottest parties and clubs across the nation
DJ Cape is a Minneapolis-based deejay from Kenya whose love for this hobby began in 1994 while still in Thika, Kenya under the guide of DJ Jesus Jones of Cascades Club, in Thika.
